It's been a long day. We have been here since 9:00 and it is currently5:00. Our day has been spent getting everyone on a level playing field. The 33 questions were challenging to all of us....especially to those of us that are mathematically challenged. Steve's great explanation of the binary code helped us tremendously. We even learned about a "binary game".

The one thing that is hard for the 3 people in our group is the new standard of only 1 space after a sentence. All of us put 2 spaces by habit. We are wondering what made MLA!

The blogging discussions have made us more accepting of using blogs in an academic atmosphere. Our apprehension about "public" blogging has changed. We have learned that we can blog "in-house" where the public can't get to them. 7/24

7/26/06: Comments about using the web in the classroom
The web is a wonderful tool for going outside the walls of the classroom. Virtual field trips, interactive sites, resources, research are just a small sampling of what you can do within the web. Some of the ways that we have used it...we have taken students to the Supreme Court. We have gone to the Louve Museum. We have used "Google Earth". We have done virtual dissections. We are overwhelmed at all of the possibilites. We have taken copious notes and are excited about the new search engines and directories that are available. This has been great for us. It has re-energized and revitalized us...as we are technology coordinators and felt that we had become stagnant..particularly with regard to the web.

The websites on summercore are great interactive sites.
